International FC Academy uses SportsEngine Motion & HQ to Improve Overall Club Operations


We sat down with Frank Iaizoo, the Director of International FC Academy in Ontario. It was a great conversation about how he soccer club uses the power of not only SportsEngine HQ, but SportsEngine Motion to increase efficiencies and save his admins a ton of time and energy. About International FC Academy

Well, thanks for having me here. My name is Frank. I'm the Athletic Director of International FC Academy here in Vaughan, Ontario.

We have a little over 800 members across various programs. We've been with SportsEngine for the last few years, with HQ and Motion. 

Utilization of SportsEngine Motion

We started using Motion about a year ago, around this time last year because we started experiencing all of our academy members registering through HQ.

It was great to capture them into one centralized system utilizing the app, scheduling communication, and payment registration.

But, we found that they were kinda tripping over themselves, re-registering for various programs that we have within the club itself. For instance, a camp, you know, travels to tournaments, showcases, and fundraising events. So rather than having them go through that registration process over and over again, we decided to utilize SportsEngine Motion, which, you know, has helped streamline that process and make things a lot more convenient for families, you know, in the long run.

Streamlining Processes with SportsEngine Motion

In terms of reducing the need for manual follow-ups, when we invoice, it sometimes takes us three to four times the amount of time to actually receive payment. So, for us, accounts receivables are significant.

Through SportsEngine Motion, you know, if you go ahead and put a charge through a particular class registration or event, usually, we get about 75 to 80 percent of our payments made immediately.  We have their credit card on file once we've captured the member's information. We can capture that information and process their payments as soon as that charge goes through. And then you always have a few stragglers, but it's a lot less burden on our staff, administrators, and, you know, honestly, our administration can get a lot more accomplished within that time.

Impact of SportsEngine Motion on Growth

I couldn't tell you exactly what that growth has been, but I can tell you that there has been significant growth within the club.

We're looking at at least 50-60 percent increased growth, and we've seen great responsiveness. Our accounts receivables are at an all-time low. From a club admin perspective, that's what you want to see in terms of healthy finances for a club.

Focus on Strengths and Community Enhancement

I think the main point is that you want your people to focus on their strengths, whether it be the coaches, the volunteers, or your admin. You don't want them to get tied down in a lot of the nitty-gritty administrative tasks, right?

So, allowing these technological accelerators—SportsEngine HQ and Motion—will allow us to focus on what we do best, right? And then ultimately enhance that experience for our members. So concentrate on the field, focus on the events, and concentrate on the social aspect in your community.

The beauty of HQ and Motion is that through the SportsEngine platform, we can access and communicate with our community. Which is ultimately what we're trying to create here.
